~ Band plans to hit the studio this month to record “War of Angels”, due out in 2010 ~

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., June 4, 2010--
After six months of writing new material, Michigan’s Pop Evil is set to record their sophomore album, “War of Angels” (Universal Republic Records) with Midwest native/producer Johnny K (Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, and Finger Eleven) beginning in June.

With the success of “Lipstick on the Mirror”, Pop Evil chose Johnny K because of his knowledge in the Hard Rock, Modern and Mainstream Rock genres, as well as crossover successes. It also helps that Johnny himself is of Midwest origin, having grown up in Chicago.

“Johnny K understands where we want to go with this next album. He gets where we are coming from and knows what it takes to survive here in the Midwest. With this bond, we know he can help take Pop Evil to new heights” remarked lead singer Leigh Kakaty.

“War of Angels”, a title that signifies the struggle people experience when trying to leave their pasts behind, is being tracked in K’s 40,000 square-foot music complex, Groovemaster Recording Studios through June and July.

“We are excited to fly out and be in Chicago with Johnny. Fans should be on the lookout for some webisodes of us jamming in the studio,” stated Kakaty. “We are going to have a hell of a time.”

Michigan rockers Pop Evil To Release Album Lipstick On A Mirror

                       On Universal Republic Records On May 26

       National Summer Tour with Judas Priest Ushers in the Major Label Debut

(Los Angeles, CA)   Fabled Michigan rockers Pop Evil has signed with Universal Republic Records and will be re-releasing their 2008 acclaimed indie album Lipstick On A Mirror, on May 26^th.  The album will be re-mixed and re-mastered, with a brand new song, “Rolling Stone,” and a riveting acoustic rendition of their signature song “100 In A 55,” which is already gaining traction online and via radio’s underground radar even before its officially release to multiple radio formats.

In support of the re-release, Pop Evil will sweep the nation on a two month long tour supporting Judas Priest and Whitesnake beginning July 5th in Wallingford, CT.

POP EVIL UPSTREAMS TO UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC RECORDS

SPRING TOUR AND A RE-RELEASE USHERS IN THE MAJOR LABEL QUINTET WITH PRAISE

LOS ANGELES, CA -- POP EVIL, the little band that could from Grand Rapids, MI has finally graduated and moved on to the big leagues. The band announced that they inked a deal with Universal Republic Records on March 6, 2009 at a live show in Cedar Rapids, IA.

One of the first plans of action as a part of the Universal family is to re-release their album Lipstick on the Mirror including a brand new track “Rolling Stone” as well as new acoustic versions of “Stepping Stone” and “100 in a 55,” a stand out track that turned heads and crowned them as a “Top New Artist of ’08” by iTunes. The re-release was re-mixed by Chuck Alkazian (Filter, Elton John, Christina Aguilera) and re-mastered by Chris Bellman (Neil Young, Duran Duran, Van Halen). The new edition of the album will be available shortly.

Pop Evil is currently on tour and will be performing select dates with Kid Rock, Seether, Chevelle and Static-X as well as appear on the Rock on The Range festival in the coming months.
